[vc_row][vc_column width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text]Founded in 1998 as the Rehabilitation Clinical Trials Center, the Respiratory Research Center is a biomedical research group within The Lundquist Institute for Biomedical Innovation at Harbor\/UCLA Medical Center, with a focus on improving the outlook for patients with shortness of breath and exercise limitations. We are the research arm of the Division of Respiratory and Critical Care Physiology and Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California.\u00a0 Investigators at the Respiratory Research Center are academically affiliated with the University of California, Los Angeles. The Respiratory Research Center is located in the Chronic Disease Clinical Research Center (CDCRC) building on the Lundquist Institute campus. Our research clinic comprises three diagnostic laboratories, private examination rooms, exercise training facilities, a visitor reception area as well as sample preparation laboratories and -80C storage facilities.\u00a0 Our researchers use state of the art equipment to measure respiratory and exercise variables to understand chronic respiratory disease and mechanisms of exercise intolerance.<\/p>\n

Our research investigators conduct cutting edge clinical and translational research to evaluate medications, therapeutics, and devices.\u00a0 We have published over 450 peer-reviewed scientific articles and are world renowned for discoveries in the field of chronic respiratory disease, exercise physiology and cardiopulmonary exercise testing.\u00a0 See About Our Research<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our commitment is to improve the quality and duration of life for those suffering from chronic respiratory disease.
