“Support from the Johnny Carson Foundation and PERF has been critical to accelerating my research into the mechanisms responsible for improvements in the immune system in COPD patients in response to exercise and exercise training.” Dr. Abbasi says. Since joining TLI’s faculty in 2022, he has already been awarded a research grant from the National Institutes of Health as a co-investigator and has several grant applications pending decision.
