Nicholas Jendzjowsky, Ph.D.

Dr. Jendzjowsky completed his PhD at the University of Alberta and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Calgary. Throughout Dr. Jendzjowsky’s academic training, he was fascinated by the interplay between autonomic reflexes and cardiorespiratory function. His scientific curiosity has moved him towards respiratory chemosensitivity and the interplay between inflammation and neuronal function.

Dr. Jendzjowsky’s primary research interests lie with the mechanism(s) by which reflex driven autonomic efferent projections regulate immunity. Dr. Jendzjowsky is interested in the development of neuronal sensing of inflammatory signals and, environmental stimuli which stimulate reflex mediated changes to lung function and immunity. Ultimately, his goal is to understand how these basic neuro-immune controlling mechanisms are regulated across a spectrum of health.
